Marie Darrieussecq, born in Bayonne, France, first came to critical attention in 1996 when her first novel Truismes (English title Pig Tales) was chosen as a finalist for the Prix Goncourt. Truismes has since been translated into 29 other languages. Naissance des fant?mes was published in 1998, and Le Mal de mer, in 1999. In 2002, a year after the birth of her son, she produced her fourth novel, Le B?b?.
Marie Darrieussecq’s travel is generously provided by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Originaire de Bayonne, en France, Marie Darrieussecq a d’abord attir? l’attention de la critique lorsque son premier roman Truismes (1996) [dont le titre anglais est Pig Tales] a ?t? choisi comme finaliste du prix Goncourt. Truismes a depuis lors ?t? traduit en 29 autres langues. Naissance des fant?mes a ?t? publi? en 1998 et Le Mal de mer en 1999. En 2002, un an apr?s la naissance de son fils, elle a ?crit sont quatri?me roman, Le b?b?.
