Bill Richardson returns again as the maitre d’ of one of the Festival’s hottest main courses. The Festival is proud to continue its tradition of presenting, in cooperation with the En’owkin Centre and Theytus Books, the release of Gatherings XIII, the 13th anniversary edition of the anthology of works by aboriginal authors. Join publisher Greg Young-Ing, editors Lee Maracle and Leanne Slett and the contributors in this celebration of contemporary Aboriginal writing.

A smorgasbord of fiction, poetry and theatre.

Talespinners: Fun with Films

Popular children’s writer Paul Yee has been telling tales of growing up in Chinatown for many years. Now the animation whizzes at the National Film Board of Canada have included them in a collection of animated films for children. The Festival is proud to be a partner in the launch of this collection. You and your family can attend the premiere screening and hear Paul Yee read and talk about the films of his stories.

For years, literary maverick, Michael Ondaatje has been pushing the edges of creativity through his varied writing. With The English Patient, he successfully branched into the world of big budget movies. His latest book, The Conversations, is his journal of exploration and discovery of in the realm of creativity with renowned film editor Walter Murch. Ondaatje will talk about The Conversations with Noah Richler in this Festival finale.
