Elke Schmitter is a well-known journalist and critic in Berlin. Her first novel, recently translated into English as Mrs. Sartoris, playfully mixes the genres of the adultery novel and detective fiction, blending high and popular literature into a seamless and charming whole. Her second novel, Leichte Verfehlungen, has been published in Germany.
