Bill Stenson's novel, Svoboda, (Thistledown Press) will be launched Saturday, September 29th, 7 p.m. at Fairfield United Church in Victoria. The novel is set in the 1950s and 60s and involves the Doukhobor culture. This will be a cultural event beginning with a performance by the Vancouver Island Doukhobor Choir and ending with an opportunity to try some traditional Doukhobor borscht. All are welcome and there is no admission fee.
