Pender Island author Andrea Spalding (Finders Keepers, The White Horse Talisman, Solomon's Tree) lets imaginations soar to encompass supernatural horses, talismans and old magic. Spalding talks about how she comes up with the ideas for her books and what inspires her.

Writer Bio

Andrea Spalding was born in Manchester, England and moved to Edmonton in 1967, where she wrote scripts for radio and television, and performed with her husband in a children's television show called Storytime. She later began writing books for children, including The Most Beautiful Kite in the World, Finders Keepers, The White Horse Talisman and the widely praised Solomon's Tree. Her picturebook, Secret of the Dance, is her 30th. She now lives in BC on Pender Island. (bio current at February 2010)
